Low-Profile Flat Belt Conveyors

A flat belt conveyor is one of the most versatile ways to move parts and products through assembly, inspection, packaging, and transfer operations. When space is limited, a low profile conveyor delivers smooth belt transport in a compact frame that fits under equipment, between processes, and inside work cells.
Direct Conveyors low-profile conveyor systems are configurable across size, drive style, and belt options. Use the configurator to define your conveyor specifications in minutes, then request pricing or engineering support for your application.

Quick benefits

– Low-profile frames for tight spaces and under-machine installs
– Configurable widths and lengths for your exact footprint
– Multiple drive styles to match your layout and maintenance access
– Belt surface options for grip, release, and product control
– Accessory-ready T-slot frames for rails, sensors, stands, and guarding
– Options for small part transfers, including nose bar capability on 48 Series

Built for Integration, Tracking, and Uptime

Both series use anodized aluminum frames with dual 8.1 mm T-slots for easy mounting of stands, side rails, sensors, and accessories. Ladder frame construction helps prevent twisting and supports consistent performance over time.

48 Series includes 20-gauge 304 stainless steel slider beds, with clamp bearings or flush-mount bearings for tight spaces. 74 Series uses a Dibond aluminum composite slider bed with clamp bearings. Both series offer sealed bearings and longer holders for added take-up, with metric fasteners throughout.

Configure Your Flat Belt Conveyor Options

Belt surface and material options can be selected to match your product and environment. Choose the belt style based on grip, release, cleanliness, and durability, and add cleats when product control is required.

Select the drive style that best matches your layout and serviceability. Available configurations vary by series and can include end drive, center drive, direct drive, and side mount (48 Series). Both series can be configured as reversible and support fixed or variable-speed control.

Common Applications for Low-Profile Conveyors

Low-profile flat belt conveyors are commonly used for assembly work cells, inspection and vision systems, packaging and labeling lines, and transfers between machines. They are a strong choice when you need stable product orientation, smooth transport, and tight integration in space-constrained areas.

How to Choose the Right Low Profile Conveyor

  1. Define your product size and transfer needs. Small parts often benefit from tighter transfer geometry and a nose bar option.
  2. Confirm required width, length, and load. Use 48 Series up to 300 lb or 74 Series up to 500 lb, with lengths up to 11,000 mm (433.1″).
  3. Pick drive location based on your layout and maintenance access.
  4. Choose fixed or variable speed control based on your throughput and process requirements.
  5. Identify accessories early. Side rails, sensors, stands, and guarding mount cleanly using the dual T-slot frames.

Low-Profile Conveyor FAQs

What is a flat belt conveyor used for?

A flat belt conveyor transports products on a continuous belt surface for stable, controlled movement through assembly, inspection, packaging, and transfer operations.

A low-profile conveyor uses a compact frame profile so it can fit in tight spaces such as under-machine installs and compact work cells.

Choose 48 Series for compact applications up to 300 lb and widths up to 650 mm (25.6″). Choose 74 Series for wider belts and heavier loads up to 500 lb and widths up to 1,545 mm (60.8″).

Yes. Both series support configurable widths and lengths, multiple drive styles, and speed control options to match your layout and process.
